Make one shared artwork
The Big Picture
A shared artwork does not come together by itself. Everyone starts with an individual contribution, then the group looks for colour, rhythm and connections. The result is one large painting that leaves room for different ideas.
How do we approach this workshop?
Each participant starts with a personal part of a shared image. Colours, shapes and ideas emerge separately; the group then works out how the pieces connect and where transitions or changes are needed.
Explore the creative process, step by step
From first idea to finished artwork
- A shared starting point
We agree on a theme and a few visual rules, such as colour, size or a continuous line.
- Individual contributions
Participants paint a personal section and bring in their own ideas, symbols or colours.
- The midway moment
We put the pieces together and look for connections, contrasts and missing transitions.
- Bring it together
We link the sections, finish the composition and reveal the complete artwork.
What happens during the creative process?
The revealing moments happen at the connections: who notices what is missing, who coordinates naturally and who leaves room for another idea? The painting makes the relationship between individual choices and a shared result visible.
What do you take away?
One collaborative artwork in which everyone’s contribution remains visible.
